We are heading out!
What might seem like a relief in the up and down of elevation? But, unfortunately, the last day was all downhill. To begin the day, we headed out on Holly Lake trail around 9,400 ft. eventually, we would be back on Paint Brush Divide Trail. There were rumors of a bear sighting off near the huckleberry bushes, but unfortunately, I didn’t see one. We were continuing our way down the trail and getting closer to the end. A group of horseback riders lets us know there was another bear and her cubs near the lake. We begin to pick up the pace in hopes of seeing them, but another disappointing effort. Hanging a left on String Lake trail, as String lake came into play, the path became more congested. With the final destination of String Lake trailhead in view, it was apparent that it was pretty packed with folks. Young kids are hanging out at the restrooms asking if you’re leaving so their parents could get our spot was a first for me. After a few minutes at the trailhead, we ended up giving someone a ride back to their car at Teton Village. We ended with lunch at Dairy Queen and the night at Bar T Five Ranch wagon ride to all you can eat buffet and entertainment.
All in all, this was a great trip of days hiking, nights sleeping under the stars, time spent with friends. With no cell service or form of communication was the Garmin GPSMAP 66i. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a little adventure.
I am looking forward to our next adventure.
